What is the procedure of changing the vehicle to the legal heir s name after the death of the owner?
If the registered owner of a vehicle is dead that should be informed to the authority immediately. The vehicle of the deceased can be used for 3 months without changing the name. For transferring the vehicle to the name of the legal heir, application should be given in Form 31 with the documents such as death certificate, certificate proving the right, insurance certificate, registration certificate, pollution control certificate, proof of residence and age and receipts of fee should also be submitted along with the application.
