What is the procedure for winterizing a property?
Depending on the time of year, many vacant properties are winterized to protect the plumbing systems. In order to complete required inspections, the property may need to be de-winterized and then re-winterized. Our winterizing procedure includes turning off the main valve at the street or within the structure, opening all faucets to drain the potable water lines and eliminate vacuums in the system, blowing out the water lines with a compressor, draining the water heater and pouring anti-freeze in all the drains.
