What is the procedure for sanction of ex-gratia in the case of suicidal death of weavers?
The State Government have issued orders for sanction of ex-gratia amount of Rs.1.50 lakhs to the families of deceased weavers who committed suicides due to poverty arising on account of occupation related distress and financial hardship, faced by weaver in weaving profession, w.e.f. 01.04.1997, on par with farmers. Postmortem report is a must for examining the death of the weaver. Out of the total ex-gratia amount of Rs.1.50 lakhs, the legal heirs of the deceased weaver is sanctioned Rs.1.00 lakh.
