What is the procedure for reservation of Wards for Sheduled Caste (S.C.), Sheduled Tribe (S.T.), Women & Other Backward Class (O.B.C.)?
Answer- The wards of a G.P. shall be serially number of seats shall be reserved for S.C. & S.T. in each G.P. and no. Of seats for S.C. and S.T. shall bear as nearly as may be the same proportion to the total no. of seats to be filled up by direct election in that G.P. as the population of the S.C. & S.T. in the concerned G.P. bears to the total population of the G.P. and such seats shall be allotted by rotation to different wards in the G.P. The wards in which the density of population for S.C.& S.T. is higher shall be reserved for S.C.& S.T. Not less than one third of total nos. of ward shall be reserved for Women. As nearly as may be, but not less than one third of wards meant for S.C.& S.T. shall be reserved for women belonging to S.C.& S.T. For the purpose, the list, which appears first, and then every third shall be reserved for women and till required quota is filled up.
