What is the procedure for purging Eastman Provista™ copolymer?
• Going from another material to Eastman Provista™ copolymer: a) Empty barrel. b) Raise barrel temperatures to 260°C(500°F). c) Put in 25 kg or 50 lb of undried Eastman Provista™ copolymer. d) Stop machine every 5 kg or 10 lb or so for 1 minute, then restart until extrudate is completely clear. e) Lower temps to normal operating conditions. • Going from Eastman Provista™ copolymer to other material: a) Run barrel completely empty. b) Set temperatures and purge conditions as per resin manufacturer guidelines.
