What is the procedure for fingerprinting?

0

Non-criminal fingerprinting is performed by officers of the Detective Bureau for BOROUGH RESIDENTS ONLY. A fee of $4.00 per fingerprint card is required, and the applicant is required to furnish the appropriate fingerprint cards. Fingerprints are routinely taken for school employment, banking, real estate, etc. If you are inquiring about a firearms application, then an appointment is required as additional information beyond the standard fingerprint card is needed which takes more time. WE ARE NOT PERMITTED TO FINGERPRINT FOR IMMIGRATION PURPOSES. Contact I.N.S. for the closest I.N.S. certified fingerprinting center. Those wishing to be fingerprinted should call 201-487-2400 in advance of coming to headquarters to insure that an officer is available to perform the fingerprinting. Remember to bring your fingerprint cards, a legal form of identification and the appropriate fee for service.
