What is the procedure for clergy responding to emails….?

I didn’t know there was a procedure. I know a Pastor who never replied to one of my E-mails. He was eventually kicked out of that church. I suspect there are one of four reasons why this time of year you have not gotten a response: 1. He’s out of town on vacation and has not seen your E-mail yet. 2. He has read your E-mail but does not believe he needs to or is expected to reply. Many of the E-mails I get are not of the type which I think require a reply. 3. There are so many people in your church sending him E-mail he just does not have time to answer them all, if he wants to have time to talk to his wife and kids. In this case he should delegate someone else to help him. 4. He’s a jerk and I don’t know how the jerk became a Pastor either. I’d call him on the phone and ask, “Did you get my E-mail?” I try to answer all E-mails daily. If I don’t, I’m out of town or sick.

There is no procedure. It’s an individual choice. You shouldn’t be hurt – some people are not good at responding to email.
