What is the pressure limitation of CorrView ®?
A. The device is machined beginning from one solid piece of bar stock metal. Therefore there are no seamed or welded joints to fail. Up until the front wear surface corrodes through, CorrView ® performs the role of a standard pipe plug. Only at the point where the front surface corrodes away will the pressure to the front sight glass increase to the line pressure. The pressure rating of this sight glass is 3,000 PSI, and has a burst pressure of near 7,000 PSI. This is well above the typical 75 – 250 PSI standard pressures found at most cooling water, fire sprinkler, and process water applications. CorrView ® has been pressure tested to 1,000 PSI and is undergoing independant lab testing to higher pressures.
