After filing the petition- For In-Country adoptions it takes between 6 and 8 months. For NRI families, where child has been placed under pre-adoptive foster care, it takes about 4 months. For Inter-Country Adoptions it takes about 6 months For domestic adoptions please note this period varies from one city to the other ( Pune, Aurangabad, Sangli) For Inter country adoptions please note this period varies as it depends on the judge handling the case at that particular period.
