What is the Prescott Valley Citizen’s Academy?
The Prescott Valley Citizen’s Academy is a program that provides citizens with an in-depth look at municipal government. The academy will meet weekly on Wednesday nights from 5:45 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. from Sept 8th until Nov 10th, 2010. Each of the academy’s ten interactive sessions will be led by representatives from 11 Town departments and 5 public agencies. The Prescott Valley Citizen’s Academy provides a unique opportunity for citizens, city staff, and elected officials to interact. What is the cost of participation? There is no fee to participate in the Prescott Valley Citizen’s Academy, but it does present a substantial time commitment for participants. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all ten sessions. What is expected of participants? In addition to attending the Prescott Valley Citizen’s Academy sessions, participants are asked to attend one town council or board/commission meeting between Sept 8th and Nov 10th, 2010.
