What is the prehealth concentration at NYU?
The prehealth concentration includes 10 courses required by most health professional schools for admissions consideration. These requirements are set by the professional schools, not NYU. Students must complete the same sequence of courses no matter what undergraduate college or university they attend. The prehealth concentration is not a major. Every prehealth student completes a major of their choice along with the prehealth concentration. Be aware that certain individual medical schools do not participate in any central service, nor do some veterinary medical schools or any podiatric medical schools. For these you must write directly to each school in question asking for their unique application packets.
