What is the possibility that remnants of hurricane dean will affect southern california this weekend?
I agree with one of the other answerers, Aviophage has no idea what she’s talking about. There is a good chance that the Southern California mountains will get some thunderstorms from the remains of Dean, probably starting Saturday but more likely on Sunday. It’s still a bit far off in time to forecast this, but the essentials have been repeating in the numerical weather prediction models (GFS). It wouldn’t surprise me if there were some flash flooding in the mountains and deserts, since there will be so much moisture in the air. I also live in the foothills, and I’m guessing that we’ll probably see a thunderstorm make it hat far west. I suspect all the coastal areas will get will be sprinkles. Don’t expect any wind from this storm, unless there’s regeneration on the Pacific side. UPDATE 8/26: Parts of San Diego County are currently under a flash flood warning due to the thunderstorms caused by the remnants of Dean. Thunderstorm coverage will probably increase as the day goes on, so th
