What is the possibility of living in space?
Living in space is currently being done, and will continue to be done for as long as the money permits. To live in space, we must overcome three forces, in addition to doing what we must to sustain life here on earth. Microgravity: lack of earth’s gravity facilitates rapid loss of muscle mass, and bone density. This can be overcome by taking mineral supplements and lots of exercise (two hours per 24 hour period). Cosmic Radiation: Space is full of deadly radiation from a variety of sources. Radiation poisoning is a very real concern for astronauts. Air Pressure (or lack thereof): We need oxygen to breathe, and air pressure must remain constant. Even with adequate breathable oxygen, other medical conditions such as Nitrogen Narcosis can occur if air pressure is not properly regulated. Overcome these prerequisites and living in space should be easy.
