What is the position of Karessence on declawing cats?
We are completely opposed to declawing. It is also part of our contractual agreement that the kittens/cats “not be declawed”. We feel this is inhumane because it is a very painful procedure and the cat loses its primary defense mechanism. If the cat’s nails are trimmed regularly, and the cat is taught to use a scratching post, then there is no need for declawing the animal.
