What is the position of IDS in the legislative battle?
On the legislative front, IDS supports designer’s freedom of speech and right to practice. It is our belief that the practice of interior design should not be left to state legislated control of the profession. Designers should have the right to choose their area of expertise within the broad realm of interior design and seek the highest level of professionalism available via certification examination requiring industry knowledge, edcuation, and work experience. The CQRID (Council for the Qualification of Residential Interior Design) certification exam is offered as a means of standardized testing in the proctice of residential interior design to the designer who aspires to proudly use the appellation of IDS Professional/CQRID certified.
