Until the boundaries of York were extended in the latter part of the 20th century to include some of the outlying suburbs and villages, the population was around 100,000. Very easy to use! Just one caution: the “York” postal area covers a lot of North Yorkshire, including towns up to 20 – 30 miles away. If you just want to find something in the centre of York, instead of typing in “York” in the third box, type in “YO1” (without the “speech marks”).
