The Yukon’s population as of June 2008 was 33,294 with 74% of the population living in Whitehorse. One year previous to that, in June of 2007, the population was 32,212. The difference is an increase of 1,082 individuals or 3.4% growth, in the Yukon’s population. Of that number, 49.3% were females and 50.7% were males. Persons under the age of 15 accounted for 17.1% of the population and 7.8% were aged 65 or over.
