The population of Price, Utah was 8,402 at the 2000 census, and by 2004 it was estimated to have decreased to 8,197. It is the county seat of, and largest city in, Carbon County, UtahCarbon County. The city is home to the College of Eastern Utah, as well as the large prehistoric museum affiliated with the college. It’s a short drive from 9 Mile Canyon and Manti-La Sal National Forest. Price is noted for its history as a mining town and its Greek/Catholic/Mormon split population.
