The heavy precipitation brings many fir trees, yet there are fewer every year as property values rise and owners of vacant lots sell them to apartment and condominium developers. The center of the town at 44th Avenue West and 196th Southwest has the usual American panoply of small businesses, Shopping mall#Strip mallstrip malls, and retail stores. Outside the commercial center of Lynnwood, to the east and north, lie forests and houses.
