Handball is a very minor sport in the US. There are approximately 20 – 40 club teams in the United States of widely varying organization. A small number of clubs (perhaps 10) practice 1 or 2 times a week and participate in weekend tournaments. A greater number of clubs practice more sporadically, but still play in tournaments. Handball is rarely shown on TV in the USA and the only significant coverage has been during the Olympic Games.
