What is the policy on employees responsibility for laptop computers when they are stolen?

Any employee who loses their district laptop or whose laptop is stolen from outside of a Parkway building will be responsible for paying to replace it. To minimize the risk of theft, always take your laptop into your residence during the evening hours and make sure to lock it in the trunk of your car when shopping or parking in public areas. If a laptop is stolen from a classroom in a Parkway school, then the building should file a claim and our insurance company would replace it. The employee is not responsible for paying any portion of this claim.
