Well, i’ll try to make it short: former student Raskolnikov thinks that there are super-people who have the right to kill others if it will lead to greater good -> He kills an old female money-lender coz he thinks he will give her money to the poverty, but after the crime he runs away, hides all stolen things and falls ill. Then his mother and sister arrive, but he can’t stand being with them and with his friend Razumihin, he becomes very nervous. He makes friends with a girl Sonia, who had to become a prostitute to earn money for he family, but she is very religious, eventually due to her influence he goes to the police and pleads guilty. He is condemned to penal servitude and Sonia goes with him. After a while he starts reading Bible and feels total remorse.
