What is the Playground Program?
The Playground Program is open to the public and is designed for children ages 6-12 years old. Children under 6 are welcome to attend the program, but must be accompanied by an adult or guardian with the approval and guidance of the Recreation Leader. The Playground Program is a drop-in, non-custodial program. Children are encouraged to participate in all scheduled activities; however, if they choose not to, alternative independent activities are available. All programs are supervised by trained recreation leaders. The Playground Program operates year-round with specific programs tailored to the school year, as well as the Winter, Spring and Summer vacations. The Playground Program is free to Manhattan Beach residents. Some special events and all bus trips have admission fees, but they are usually discounted from the regular public prices.
