What is the planning framework and process for determination of the application?
The zoning of the waterway in the area permits the construction of marinas and associated works pursuant to the Sydney Regional Environment Plan (SREP) Sydney Harbour Catchment 2005. The proponent has been granted permission by the Maritime Authority of NSW to lodge an application with the Department of Planning to construct and operate a marina with 172 berths and associated facilities. The Environmental Assessment now being prepared will be submitted to the Department of Planning and put on display for community comment. All submissions will be considered and a report will be prepared by the Department and submitted to the Minister for Planning. The Minister will determine the application under Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
