What is the plan of salvation in the Quran?
The plan of salvation in the Qur’an goes like this. Each person is to follow the pillars of religion and amass good deeds. Muslims believe that their deeds will be weighed on the great scales of justice on the Day of Judgment, and if their good deeds overweigh their bad deeds, then they will go to heaven, otherwise hell. Ultimately however, they believe that Allah has mercy upon whom he chooses – as though arbitrarily. The Qur’an itself only promises heaven to those who die in the cause of Jihad – those who spill blood. In stark contrast, Jesus died for his enemies. He told us that there is no greater love than this, for one to lay his life for another. Islam on the other hand, commands its followers to kill their enemies.
