What is the Plan for Grants within NYFMS?
NYFMS anticipates eventually supporting the entire life cycle of grants management. Application and reporting for grants from the federal government and other entities will be linked to individual grant opportunities (RFPs, Notice of Funding Availabilities, etc). Prospective grantees will be able to apply, manage, and report on the progress of their award through an online statewide grants clearinghouse. Federal reporting and funds drawdown will also be supported. Currently a small group of agency representatives are evaluating one of the products that will be used for creating, evaluating, and reporting on awards given out by the state. The participants are working hard to ensure that the software will meet the divergent needs of all state agencies, and identify any gaps.
