What is the pilates reformer?
The Pilates Reformer is a spring-loaded 6′ + long piece of equipment designed for all individuals to exercise with support. It contains a pulley system that allows clients to place their legs or hands in straps that are used to assist the exercise or provide resistance. The Pilates exercise and reformer were invented by Joseph H. Pilates. He developed the program in the 1920’s while working as a nurse in a prison camp.
