What is the philosophy of ministry of Providence Church?
Because of our strong belief in the sovereignty of God and the authority of Scripture, our philosophy of ministry is simple and straightforward: we endeavor to be faithful with the means of ministry that God has ordained in His Word, and trust that He will use our efforts to accomplish His desired purpose through our church. One result of this philosophy is that we avoid ministry that is driven by market research, psychological theories, and other pragmatic methods that are commonly used to make the church “seeker sensitive.” The reason for this is that we believe that such an approach only reinforces a man-centeredness that is already prevalent in the church. It is our conviction that God will use the simple means that he had ordained — God-centered worship, preaching and teaching, prayer, fellowship, and personal ministry — to bring conviction upon individuals of their need for Christ and draw people to Himself.
