Philip Barker a historian of science conducted a poll at 80 universities around teh world to determine who would qualify as teh top scientists of all time and limited teh number to 1000.The list along with salient biographical detalis was published as a volume by Orient Longmans.It has a foreword by Professor Ludmilla Jordanova President of British Society for History of Science and is popularly regard as teh most authentic list of the top scientists of all time.
