This is used so that you can test the water produced by the unit on a monthly basis. When producing alkaline water, the reagent in the water should turn green, blue, purple or combination of, depending on your pH setting. When producing acidic water, the reagent in the water should be an orange, yellow, red or combination of, depending on your pH setting.
