What is the Personnel Match Field?…what should I pick for it?
The personnel match field is a field in an import record used as an alternate identifier, to match import records with existing personnel records in the database (whether or not these were added manually or via another import). A good personnel match field should: – Have a unique value for each personnel record in the import file. – Have a value in most (if not all) of the import records, even though it is not required to be in all import records. – Have a value in most (if not all) of the personnel records in the database, in order to be able to find matches. – Have values that do not change often. If there is no other suitable personnel match field in your data, it is recommended to select the personnel name as the personnel match field. This will allow matching import records to personnel records that were added to the database by other means (however, the import will not be able to update personnel names if they have changed).
