What is the personality of the Maine Coon ?
Maine Coons are often referred to as the “Gentle Giants” of the cat fancy. Although large and feral in appearance, the Maine Coon is a very gentle and social cat. A perpetual kitten, they bound through life, bright-eyed and bushy tailed. They have clown-like personalities and will keep you very amused. Maine Coons are very loving. They are curious, intelligent and love to help with the daily activities. Many of them will even play “fetch.” Maine Coons are very “people oriented”. They normally get along well with dogs, children and other cats. Maine Coons are fascinated with water. Some will stir their water before drinking it and others will drink right out of the faucet for the freshest water available. One of ours will play in the bathtub, waiting to chase the last drips of water before the faucet quits running.
