What is the Personal Greeting?
The Personal Greeting is a text (6-30 characters long) that you select during registration. This text should be personal, however not secret. Each time a Secure Online Purchasing receipt will be presented to you by Kroger Personal Finance® you should look for the Personal Greeting – it proves it is a genuine Kroger Personal Finance® receipt. Please note – you cannot select a Personal Greeting that will be identical to the SecureCode. Your SecureCode must be kept secret, while the Personal Greeting is openly displayed on the receipt.
You can set your own Personal Greeting when you register a card for the service using our MasterCard SecureCode registration site at https://www.securecode.com/hsbcinternational. When you shop online at participating merchants, you should look for your Personal Greeting in the MasterCard SecureCode request box. This is to assure you that it’s us asking you for the MasterCard SecureCode and nobody else. You shouldn’t input your MasterCard SecureCode into any box which doesn’t show your Personal Greeting. If you register via a pop-up (or in-line) window during an online purchase, your Personal Greeting will show our standard default message. You will need to set your own Personal Greeting as soon as possible. Go to our MasterCard SecureCode registration site at https://www.securecode.com/hsbcinternational and select ‘Account Management’. Log in as instructed and select ‘Change Profile’.
When you shop online at participating stores, you should look for your Personal Greeting in the Verified by Visa request box. This is to assure you that it’s us asking you for the Verified by Visa Password and nobody else. You shouldn’t input your Verified by Visa Password into any box which doesn’t show your Personal Greeting. If you register via a pop-up (or in-line) window during an online purchase, your Personal Greeting will show our standard default message until you add your own during registration. You can set or change your own Personal Greeting when you register a card for the service using our Verified by Visa registration site. Debit cards should go to https://secure6.arcot.com/vpas/hsbc and select “Update Information”. Log in as instructed. Credit cards should go to https://secure6.arcot.com/vpas/hsbc/and select “Update Information”. Log in as instructed.
