What is the performance of the new 3 ring pistons?
On 24 hp engines it is very noticeable performance upgrade. It is not so noticeable on the 32 hp OHV engines. On the 24 hp engine, when installed, you notice an immediate increase in acceleration, gear changing is done at higher engine speeds, and the engine runs cooler and quieter. The overall performance will also depend on the quality of your engine. Big Bill’s Bikes has installed over 100 pairs of them and the performance varied on each Chang Jiang 750 depending on condition of the engine. Generally, this is a very worthwhile upgrade for the 24 hp engine.
