What is the perception of the Katy ISD athletic programs statewide?
The UIL has recognized Katy ISD as one of the top high school athletic programs in the state. We’ll be playing in our third straight Texas Football Classic. Katy and Cinco Ranch have represented us well and Mayde Creek will open against Brenham this season. The girls programs had lots of teams advance in district and regional competition and many of those kids return. There is a culture of winning in state competitions with Katy football, Taylor tennis, Cinco Ranch track, Morton Ranch soccer and individual winners at Mayde Creek in swimming and Taylor in wrestling this past season. Seven Lakes has been recognized by the Houston Chronicle as one of the areas top overall athletic programs. The UIL recognizes that the Katy ISD has a great following from the community, parents and fan base. The administrators and coaches are fantastic, a critical part of our success.
