A first violation of this act could subject the violator to a civil penalty of 200% of the value of the illegal gift or $25, whichever is greater. Subsequent violations are punishable by a maximum civil penalty of $10,000. Additionally, a lobbyist violating the gift prohibition provisions more than one (1) time could have his/her lobbying privileges suspended for up to two (2) years.
