Here are some possibilities. • They were assigned a desk with a computer already on it. • Their advisor gave them a computer. • It’s the student’s personal computer. • They were next in the pecking order and the department had a free machine. • A student who had a computer on his/her desk left and another student moved to that desk. • They were quick off the mark when Zube needed to put a machine somewhere fast.
