What is the path to becoming a Member of Parliament?

There are quite a few ways. Basically you need to get yourself on the shortlist for the selectors panel in your local area, they’ll interview you etc and then pick the candidate. Ways to get there include being an activist, helping out the local Conservative Association with leaflets etc, and attend events to get yourself known to the people that matter. Get in touch with your nearest Tory MP. There’s also Conservative Future, of which I’m the Chair for SW Beds branch. They are a national organisation who will have a regional Chair to cover your area. You could also do what I’ve done and get yourself elected to local council. I was elected as the youngest ever member of mine last year at the age of 21. Email me through my profile, I won’t know your area or anytihng like that but I might be able to point you in the right direction.
