What is the Partners Program?
The Partners Program trains and matches Partners with parents wanting support at their child’s IEP, Transition or Mediation meeting. Our goal is to have Partners in every community throughout the state of Oregon. Who are Partners? Partners are parents and others who have gone through a two day intensive Partner Training Program. Partners are volunteers for the Oregon Parent Training and Information Center (OrPTI). They receive a stipend for each meeting that they attend as assigned by OrPTI. What is the role of a Partner? Partners are not at the meeting to speak for you. Their role is to help you prepare for the meeting, plan an agenda, identify the issues, write out proposals etc. At the meeting they will take notes and act as a trained listener who is familiar with special education rules and regulations. Tasmanians have already achieved a lot in pursuit of their vision for 2020. The Tasmania Together Partners Program makes it easier for community groups, businesses and others to get involved with the Progress Board, to work together to achieve specific Tasmania Together goals and benchmarks. It is a formal agreement that sets out what each partner will do to contribute to the achievement of Tasmania Together and what the Board will do. The Program will also help partners to speak with some authority on the benchmarks, and give the Board a clearer picture of the issues to be overcome and alliances to be developed to achieve particular benchmarks.

The Partners Program is a voluntary program that recognizes and provides financial rewards to employers who go beyond the legal requirements of the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, and take a best-practices approach to implementing health, safety, and return-to-work programs.
The Partners Program has provided scholarship support to financially deserving students at Gordon College since 1989. Every dollar raised through Partners is awarded directly to students who would not be here without it. In 1989 40 trustees and friends of Gordon recognized the need to support students struggling with overwhelming financial challenges. That first year they contributed nearly $40,000 in scholarship support. Today the needs are even greater. Currently over 600 students are being supported through The Partners Program totaling nearly $700,000 in financial aid. Without Partners support Gordon College would risk losing young men and women seeking to fulfill our critical mission. Partners stand in the gap for many who will indeed serve and lead in every career field-the sciences, the arts, education, ministry, health care, social services, computer technology and so on.
