What is the Parks Commission?
The parks commission is a citizen advisory committee established by County Ordinance #355. Their purpose is to act in an advisory capacity to the Benton County Board of Commissioners, providing recommendations to the board regarding the planning, development, funding and evaluation of park and recreation facilities and programs. The Parks Commission is comprised of two Benton County Commissioners and seven members appointed by the Commissioners. The Parks Commission meets the first Wednesday of the month at the Lake View Center in the summer and the Commissioners room in Foley in the winter.
