What is the parents role?
Because The MorningStar Academy is an online private school, it provides comprehensive lessons, teacher instruction, grading, and record keeping. Because students are learning at home, The MorningStar Academy depends on parents to ensure their student is attending class each day and will meet all attendance requirements required by private school law. We also encourage parents to foster extra-curricular activities for their students.
Your committed participation is essential to making your child’s independent study experience a success. The first and primary teacher of every child is their parent(s), at Progress we have removed the busy work of searching for curriculum by providing a complete solution for each student. Independent study is a partnership between parents, students, and Progress Academy. This allows parents to have the time to really enjoy teaching and learning with their children and, more importantly, learning about their children.

Our system tracks attendance and automatically grades many quizzes and tests. Teacher help is available online every school day via email and our Live Operator System to help in areas that may be difficult. This invaluable communication tool gives both parents and students instant access to the Academic Counselor of their choice. New Hope allows parents to have the time to really enjoy teaching and learning with their children and, more importantly, learning about their children.
