What is the overall plan for the Community Center that is being developed?
The Groton Community Foundation is looking to build a “community center” that will bring citizens together and address the needs of the four “ACTS” of town: Adults, Children, Teens, and Seniors. We are currently focusing on the Groton Country Club site as a home for the center. We have had some concept plans developed, from three different architectural firms, illustrating what professionals believe is possible on the site. The Selectmen have appointed two Ad Hoc committees over the past two years to investigate where such a Community Center might fit within Groton as well as whether the Groton Country Club site is feasible. The reports of these Ad Hoc committees can be found on our website (www.grotoncommunityfoundation.org) in Ad Hoc Committee 1 Report and Ad Hoc Committee 2 Report.
