What is the origin of the ides of march?
Usually, most people associate the Ides of March, which is March 15, with the murder of Julius Caesar. However, the Ides of March comes from the Romans, and it was related to their calendar. The middle days of particular months (13 or 15) were call ides. For the months of March, May, and two other months the fifteenth day was given this designation.
