What is the origin of the Franklin Institute?
The Institute was founded in 1824 to provide a place for the study of scientific endeavors. In 1934 it moved from its original location on Market Street to its present site, at 20th and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on Logan Square. Source: Morgan, George. The City of Firsts.
