The Red and White Fleet originated as a ferry and tug boat company on San Francisco Bay. In the 1940s, the name for the sightseeing business was derived from the red and white painted tug boats that the company had used for so many years. So our company name does not come from any affiliation with our local universities. However, Stanford and UC Berkeley – we love and support you both!
