What is the origin of morality?
1 The existence of a creature that faces the alternative of life or death 2 The same creature has volition and must choose it’s concious actions 3 The same creature holds ideas in abstract form and is fallible but possesses reason 4 The same creature, when choosing action, must use reason to choose between actions that enable life (good) or threaten life (bad) 5 The same creature holds these choices in an abstract form to allow rapid, reliable application of the principles throughout life (morality)
