What is the origin of blues music and guaitar chord progresstion?
Blues music has its origins in tribal Africa. Native African music, however, sounds little like the music we refer to as blues, but it does provide some basic forms. Blues music really began in America with the importation of African slaves. Over time, African tribal music became work songs, laments and began resembling what we know today as blues. The importation of slaves gave rise also gave rise to early gospel music, when these musical forms were turned to the purpose of Christian worship, and jazz and soul music as well. They all share a common ancestor. As with any musical genre, over time it has developed, changed, splintered into sub genres and so on, but to cut a long story short, that’s where it all began.
