The Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer command-line interface is a set of text based commands that enable you to create and manipulate Discoverer EULs. Note: You use Heterogeneous Services to connect to non-Oracle databases, although the EUL is stored in the Oracle database. For more information about using non-Oracle databases, see Chapter 23, “Discoverer Support for Non-Oracle Databases and Oracle Rdb”. The Discoverer command-line interface runs only on a Windows platform. The Discoverer command-line interface enables you to perform tasks without running the Discoverer Administrator or Discoverer Desktop graphical user interface (GUI). For example, using the Discoverer command-line interface you can: • import EUL objects • export EUL objects • refresh EUL objects In addition, you can create command files that contain multiple commands (much like MS-DOS batch files or UNIX script files) to perform groups of administrative tasks automatically.
