What is the opera Aida about?
Aida is the story of an Ethiopian princess captured and enslaved by the Egyptians. She is in love with Radames, a general in the Egyptian army. The Egyptian princess Amneris also loves Radames and is aware that there is something going on between Aida and Radames. Eventually, Radames is accused of treason and he is sentenced to death by being sealed in a tomb. Aida hides in the tomb and Radames discovers her and they die in each other’s arms.
