What is the OpenSEA Alliance?

0

The OpenSEA Alliance is an 501c6 non-profit organization that has come together in order to promote the development and adoption of a robust and reliable open-source 802.1X supplicant for secure access to network and other computing resources. Security has historically been an Internet perimeter function, but the increasing ubiquity of network connectivity combined with unsurpassed mobility has made security at the network edge much more critical. Newer standards support these trends by allowing security to be provisioned and managed as user and endpoint attributes, enforced by network devices at the initial point of connection. The OpenSEA Alliance believes that one of the largest deficiencies in addressing this broad area is a robust, reliable, interoperable and easy to use 802.1X Supplicant (Client). Developing, promoting, and distributing an open source 802.1X supplicant is the The OpenSEA Alliance’s initial objective.
